Lisa Williamson 1969 – 2014

It was with great sadness and utter shock that in the middle of March we were told of the sudden death of Lisa, a Care Assistant here at Pinhay. She died tragically in a car accident early one morning near Axminster, Devon.

Lisa was a dedicated and bubbly character who loved looking after our residents. Her dedication and loyalty meant that our home and residents got the very best she had to offer, and for that we will be forever grateful.

She leaves behind a husband Peter and her beloved dog Ruby, as well as a Care Home full of people who will always remember her. Peter her husband told us that she loved working here and we had helped build her confidence and enabled her to start her NVQ qualifications.

Her funeral took place on Friday 4th April. and as she had no religious faith, it was a personal and private cremation. The staff and some of the residents gathered at 1.45pm to spend a few minutes thinking about and  remembering Lisa.

Some of us here do have quite a strong faith, and we read the following poem as a way of closing the gathering.

Little Did We Know That Morning
Little did we know that morning
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us peaceful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
